I'm Confused Follow Me or Why Not ?

How is it I have had almost 2,000 visitors to my page yet no one is following me.  Everyone comes to get my recipe or to read one of my How To's but NO ONE follows me.

 Please tell me what I am doing wrong.  I'm not sure how to fix this.  Or is there a glitch and I actually have followers it is just not showing up.
