Recycled Box to Trash Can

Yep I made a trash can.  Why well a new family moved to Tennessee and
several in the community have made donations to set them up in a home with
 everything that they need.
Only 3 trash cans were bought.  1 for Kitchen, and 1 for each of the 2 bathrooms.

But none for the teenagers bedrooms or for the Living room.  Not sure if everyone has trash cans for all of the rooms in there house, but our family does.   I could of gone to the store and bought 2 more trash cans, but me being one that loves crafts decided upon this.

I started with 2 used USPS priority boxes.
I covered them with Paper Mache' first.  I did the old fashion way we did as kids using a mixture of flour and water.  Now what was really weird that NEVER do I remember happening before.  Is the finished product which I will show shortly.  Looked like I has put a crackle paint over the boxes.  I painted them white several coats and finally got the cracks to go away somewhat.

Here is a picture of what I am telling you about.
yes you still see the crackle, but not all broken apart as much.  Before painting white it looked like the paper mache part would just fall off the box.

Now this one is not finished yet,but it is the above box painted white.
You might wonder what the little mountain/ built up areas are on the side.  I want to have a bit of dimension to this one.  That will be the center of some flowers.

LOL I've been piling stuff inside to clean off my couch.  Once I get done working on the Diamond Dot Painting I am doing right now, I will finish this project.  (check other posts coming soon about 5D Diamond Dot Paintings.)

Now the other box I didn't put any dimensions.  I covered it with Scrapbook paper.
I wish I had thought to take a close up of the box before I covered it.  The strip down the middle on the front came on to cover up where the box comes together.  I had not covered that area enough with the Paper Mache' so it kind of dented in there.
Below tells what was done.
Here is the Butterfly Box I made a couple years ago.  This stared out as a box that dog food came in.
These boxes are really thick and sturdy.  I have used them for all kinds of things.  lol
Including the Box below that my family and I call the Butterfly Box.  Which is where our postage stamps and a few other like items are.  So I say it's in the Butterfly box.  So much easier to explain than it is on the book shelf 2nd one over in the dinning room beside the kitchen wall.  Top shelf at the far end.  lol
I spoke above about using a thicker material on the top edges.
instead of Card Board I used matte board that is used for all kinds of things including in framing a photo or license etc.

I hope you enjoyed reading and looking at my latest creations.

New Bird Toys and Page

I am having so much fun making Bird Toys.  Just wish I would sell them.

Pink Activity Stacker $5.50

Am I selling them for to high?  Or just not enough people have seen them.
I think people are looking at them and making them.  This was a therapy for me.
But now they are making me sad.

Some say it is just cut up card board. But it takes a lot of time to cut up the
squares, triangles and other shapes.  Then I punch a hole in each one .

Blue and Green Activity Stacker $5.50

Green Octopus  $3.50

Do you think my prices are to high?  You can find my toy page on FaceBook.

Just look up

Click above and link might take you there.

Like and share my page if you don't mind.

Well I am sorry this post is not more cheerful.  But I plan to get my behind in gear soon.  grin.

I will post about the 2 necklaces I just finished for my daughter.

So come back.  If you are not a member or follower of me.  Please follow me on blogger.

Thanks for reading me. Have a great day.

Easter Eggs for Senior Living Home

Well Easter is over with, but memories are not.
I just wanted to show all of you what I put together for the Seniors at the
Senior Living Home my hubby works at.

First I didn't have a lot of time because things got busy and I could not for the life of me come up with any ideas.  So after seeing several Brooches posted on our local VarageSale.com I got an idea.

Why not buy Easter Brooches and put them on felt eggs.

Ok next problem.  I needed 35 of them.  BUT I didn't want to spend $35 or more for brooches.  So I spoke with the lady told her what I was going to do with them and asked if she could maybe help out.  I told her I was not asking for a free hand out.  But could she give me a really good deal.
She wrote back she didn't have 35 Easter brooches.  I told her that was fine I could pick out others too and put them on an Easter Egg.  So we made a deal.  35 brooches for $16.

I didn't take pictures of any of the brooches before putting them on the eggs.  But after putting a couple on eggs I decided plain eggs just would not work.  Especially for brooches that were 1" x 1 " in the middle of an Egg that was 3 inches tall.

So I got out my glitter glue.  That was not very funny.  Lots were died up or wanted to shoot out all the watery glue.  I did find that glitter glue by Rangers called Stickles.

All worked better than any of the other glues that I had.  So couple days ago I went on Amazon and ordered all the colors I could get.  GRINNING.

Here are the Easter Brooches.

ALL Reviews For past Years

I decided that every year or maybe even every few months I will post a combined list of posts I did over the year and the years.

WHY ???

Well then you can see a picture with lots of pics from posts from that year.
While looking at the Picture Collage you see something you are interested in.

So you click on the link for that year.
It will take you to a page that will show the pics individually.

Then click on the picture you want to find info on.

It WON"T
take you to a page you have to scroll through for weeks to find the
particular post you are looking for.

IT WILL

take you Right to that particular page you are searching for.

So why scroll through each year of posts when you can
scroll through a review,
see a brief pic and get a better idea if you want to read that post or not.

Kids at St. Judes Christmas

Have you ever made a donation to St. Judes?  Do you know what St. Judes is?

St. Jude was founded by entertainer Danny Thomas in 1962, with help from Lemuel Diggs and close friend, Miami, Florida, automobile dealer Anthony Abraham, on the premise that "no child should die in the dawn of life".

Ok that is the list they have listed.   Now where to send them to.

St. Jude Research Hospital
Attn: Vilma Carnahan
595 North Parkway
Memphis, TN 38105

Urgent Items Needed

Want to read the entire history of how it came about.  Click below....

All medically eligible patients who are accepted for treatment at St. Jude are treated without regard to the family's ability to pay. St. Jude is one of a few pediatric research organizations in the United States where families never pay for treatments that are not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. In addition to providing medical services to eligible patients, St. Jude also assists families with transportation, lodging, and meals. Three separate specially-designed patient housing facilities— Tri DeltaPlace for short-term (up to one week), Ronald McDonald House for medium-term (one week to 3 months), and Target House for long-term (3 months or more)—provide housing for patients and up to three family members, with no cost to the patient. These policies, along with research expenses and other costs, cause the hospital to incur more than $2.4 million in operating costs each day.

Why am I writing this?   Well these kids need Christmas just like our children do.  But there parents don't want to leave there bedside.  They have no way to go shopping to make there child's holiday bright.

Journaling and Bible Versus

Hello again everyone.  I am a bit behind on posting.  I wanted to ask you all for a huge favor.

Here is the SMASH book I am making for my sister.

I would like to put a bible verse on the page with the tree and the one with the deer.  Two different verses.  I just am lost.  Would love to see some recommendations.

Here is the link directly to the SMASH book posting.

I'm way behind on working on her book.

Kind of lost the incentive.
Maybe some help will prompt me on again.

Zendoodles and Crafts I did in Hawaii

Well I went to Hawaii because my daughter needed me.  I was gone 6 weeks and have more time to play over there than I do at home. No pets to take care of or men to pick up after.  So this is what I did.

These are ornaments I made and then abandoned in places so lucky persons could find them and keep them.
There is a group on Facebook called Art Abandonment
Here is the link if you would like to join

The places I left them

Then I got board and tired of making these so I made these to leave around.
And where I left them

Then I got in the Drawing mood.

I did a couple more smaller ones, but my camera won't let me pull them up.  Crazy thing.

Check my next post for what I was working on for my last 2 weeks in Hawaii.

Here is what my daughter was working on.  She is a graphic design artist.

I wanted to show you the Santa ones because I drew them.

Then I told her she needed to do some for Hawaii and those living there or going or have gone.  lol.

Where can you get these. Well by clicking on the link below of course.
